Ethan Weiss, M.D.

Ethan Weiss is a cardiologist whose special interests include preventive cardiology, the genetics of coronary disease, risk assessment for heart conditions and heart disease in the young.

Ethan joined Third Rock Ventures as an entrepreneur in residence in 2020, where he helped to develop the concept for Marea Therapeutics. Prior to joining Third Rock, Ethan was a long-time member of the cardiology faculty and was a principal investigator in the Cardiovascular Research Institute at University of California, San Francisco, where his research interests focused on metabolism. He continues to have a small clinical practice in preventive cardiology.

Ethan holds an M.D. from Johns Hopkins, where he also completed his internship and residency. He completed his cardiology training and postdoctoral research training at the University of California, San Francisco.
