Peter Thomson, MBA

Peter Thomson brings more than 20 years of experience in the life sciences industry. He is currently a consultant for Third Rock Ventures, where he serves as interim head of finance for a number of portfolio companies.

Prior to that, Peter served as vice president, finance at Fulcrum Therapeutics, Inc. where he headed finance from the Series A in 2016 through an IPO in 2018 until returning to Third Rock in 2022. At Fulcrum, Peter oversaw the creation of the finance and accounting function, led financing efforts to raise over $480M in capital and helped create a $1B enterprise valuation by shepherding two assets into the clinic. Prior to Fulcrum, Peter worked with the Third Rock team to launch three portfolio companies, including Fulcrum Therapeutics. Peter’s previous experiences includes heading finance at Bind Therapeutics, including its strategic sale to Pfizer in 2016. Additional roles include senior director of finance at OvasSience and director of finance at Millenium: The Takeda Oncology Company. In addition, he held positions on the finance teams at Boston Scientific Corporation and Hewlett-Packard Company.

Peter holds a B.A. from Brown University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
